Here we go! We made it through a long winter and the day has arrived! This brings us to opening day of the 47th season to the "Greatest Show on Dirt!"! I started coming to Grandview in 1974 as a 16 year old kid with my Dad! We didnt miss 1 weekly race for close to 10 years till we bought a kart and then a micro-sprint! We still never missed the big races! This will be my 35th year coming to Grandview! I remember the Big Boys back in the 70's at Grandview like Pete Damiani, Mike Geiser, Mike Kelly, John Blackley, Francis Hardner, Charlie Gilmore, Jerry Rice, amongst others and my favorite, Don Loder in the 88x! Seeing Tom Mayberry & Paul Koch get their 1st wins as 16 year olds! Dragging my friends to the track weekly and loving it! I cannot count the numerous people I have brought to the track over the years! The times and people and cars have changed, but the racing still is un-matchable to any other track I have frequented! Grandview has a personna, an attitude an ambience about it! Get ready for some elbows-up, paint swapping, alky-breathin', dirt slingin' racing tonite! IT'S OPENING DAY!
