Here Duane Howard works the bottom on Billy Pauch Jr. and Don Norris on practice day at Grandview! Ernie Saxton reported that Duane will be running ALL of April at Grandview and possibly the entire season? I had heard something about Bridgeport restructuring their purse? Maybe that has something to do with it? Duane also stated that he was going to run for points at Grandview last season and bugged out when the going got tough! BECHTELSVILLE AT 6:10 SUNDAY!!

This was one wild storm! We left Wernersville to try and outrun the tornado and by the time we got home we had this going on! Would have loved to seen the high-banks covered in quarter inch sized hail!

JASON HAMILTON!

Here is a great picture of the Beer City-Adams Glass & Aluminum-Horrocks Fire & Rescue Apparatus-Newtown Fireplace-Capri Restaurant-Pipersville Lawn & Garden-Nolt's Ice- Morrison powered Bicknell #15 of Jason Hamilton! I'll tell ya what...this car looks SO much better in person! Jason looked very good in practice yesterday working the bottom line to perfection at times! The track was very wet and hard to get ahold of in the early going. The mid part of the day seemed the best track conditions of the day! As the day wore on the track started to develop ruts and peel away! Kenny didnt hesitat to get that grader going trying to keep the track raceable! That is Kory Fleming parked next to Jason who will be a regular in the late model division. That is Kory towards the back of Jasons car. You can also see the 2 cars of Kyle Follweiler with B&F General Machine sponsor of Bob Faust! The team Fast entry of AJ Desantis & the sprint car of Jimmy Reppert #97. Also back there in the red sweatshirt is Doug Manmiller who didnt have a car present yesterday! (CLICK PIC TO ENLARGE)

WOW...THAT WAS COLD!

Grandview had a pretty good crowd today as you can see in the pix! It was mighty cold just sitting there! The forecast said 55 degrees! I didnt think you could actually see your breath in 50 degree temps! Duane Howard looked to be the fastest thing on the track today! Others who looked good were Jason Hamilton, Craig Von Dohren, Meme Desantis, Danny Erb, Kory Fleming, Greg Hoffmaster amongst others! The new boys that consist of AJ Desantis, Kyle Follweiler and Addison Meitzler all seemed to have a handle on the track after a few warm-up sessions!

PRACTICE DAY!

OK, so we wont see Ray Evernham & Erin Crocker signing in to run practice day warm-ups! But, the weather seems to be cooperating somewhat to let us see all of our other favorite drivers today! The sun may not be shining but we sure will be having the sights and sounds of the mighty modifieds and late models throttling around the high-banks today! FINALLY, winter is over and the 47th season at the Greatest Show on Dirt is back! Alky breathin', mud-slingin', elbows-up racing has returned! Can you tell I am a little excited? See you guys at the track!!

John Pursell will be making the short haul to Grandview Speedway this season! Here is a pic from last season at Bridgeport. There is a great article on John in the AARN this week by Randy Kane. John has raced at Bridgeport Speedway over the past years and is finally going to throw his hat into the high-bank wars at Grandview for 2009! I am sure there will be a huge learning curve for John since the tracks are worlds apart! Good Luck this year to John!

Here is a picture I took back in 2003 of Billy & Billy Jr both going over some racing strategy during the running of the Freedom 76 at Grandview! There is a good interview on Doug's Dirt Diary with Billy Jr. just from the other day! He did state that he will be running FULL-TIME at both BDR & Grandview for points! That is awesome! He is cutting back on the asphalt modified & the ARDC midget! Look for Billy Jr to have a stout year aboard the Pioneer Pole Barn #8 at both tracks!

DUANE HOWARD!

Here is an excellent photo by Lee Smith taken last night at Selinsgrove speedway! Duane's new paint scheme is similar to last season! I LOVE IT! I always love a white chassis...would'nt want to clean it...but its looks great! Duane also commented when we met up with him this winter that finding stress cracks in the chassis is much easier to spot on a white frame! Duane rolled the BPG Chad Sinon Troyer to a 3rd place finish last night!

Welcome to Scott Hoffmaster and Hoffmaster Motorsports! Scott sent a nice comment about his liking of the Cowpatty Nation site and has recently become a follower! This is a picture of Greg Hoffmaster's car which is Scott's Dad! It's a beauty! Can't wait to see it in action! Scott recently put together the Coventry Mall race show located in Pottstown! It is the 1st time the show has been at the mall in roughly 20 years!
