RAIN WASHES OUT RACING ACTION AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA July 10, 2010 . . . Heavy rains in the morning, overly wet grounds, and rain continuing in the afternoon forced promoter Bruce Rogers to cancel the 3 Starz Landscaping Night stock car racing action at NASCAR sanctioned Grandview Speedway on Saturday.
The doubleheader show would have featured the NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Late Model stock cars.
“Actually the rain was a good thing, though we would have preferred to have it on a different day,” said Rogers. “There is no denying we have needed rain for a while so despite losing one of our events we really did welcome the rain.”
Racing action returns to Grandview Speedway on Wednesday, July 14th when the traveling Race of Champions Dirt DART Modifieds will be featured in a 60-lap feature race with several of the top Grandview racers planning to compete. BPG Racing has added $1,000 to the purse bringing the first place money for the Modified feature to $5,000. In addition there will be a 40-lap feature for the Race of Champions Sportsman. Racing gets the green flag at 7:30 p.m.
