COALCRACKER WEEKEND!

Coalcracker Weekend, sponsored by Pioneer Pole Buildings, is here. Racing takes place tonight Friday September 3 and Sunday September 5.


The seventh presentation of the Sportsman Coalcracker 50 is tonight. This event historically draws a wide variety of Sportsman competitors from different speedways. The 50-lap feature will pay $2000 to win. Big Diamond regular Mike Loney of Taylor is the defending Coalcracker 50 champion.

The annual Penske Racing Shocks 358 Modified non-winner’s race is also on the card this evening. Doug Manmiller, the 2010 track champion, is eligible for this year’s event along with a well established list of Modified names. Other drivers include: Kyle Follweiler, Gary Hager, Colt Harris, John Willman, Jim Bobbitt Jr., Scott Miller, Billy Pauch Jr., Neil Huber, Troy Wink, Tommy Scheetz, Dan Hineline, Mark Behm, Addison Meitzler, Michael Weinert, David Van Horn, Danny Hieber, Mike Nicholas, Andy Burkhart, Eric Kocher, Billy Pauch Sr., Gary Wagner Jr., Sean Merkel, and Richie Pratt Jr. Laps to be determined by number of cars entered, Penske Racing shocks are awarded to the winner as well as a guaranteed draw for Sunday's Coalcracker 100.

The always exciting Wooden Keg Tavern Roadrunners will complete the three-division program. The Roadrunner main event is a 25-lap contest.

Gates open at 5:00PM this Friday and qualifying begins at 7:45PM. Admissions for Friday are: Grandstand Adult-$15, Students/Seniors/Military ID-$13, Children ages 6-12-$3, and Kids under age 6 are free. In the pit area, BDR Members are $25 and non-members are $35.

A Labor Day Weekend tradition continues on Sunday September 5. For the 30th time in track history, the Coalcracker race for 358 Modifieds takes center stage. This year’s 100-lap feature will pay $10,000 to the victorious driver. Ryan Godown of Ringoes NJ is the defending race winner.

The main event will be 100-green flag laps with a fuel stop at half-way. Feature restarts are double file until after lap 90, when it will be single file and all lapped cars go to the rear of the field.

On Sunday, gates open at 4:00PM and racing begins at 7:00PM. Adult admission to the grandstands is $25, children ages 6-12 are $5, and kids under the age of 6 are free. Pit passes are $35 for BDR members and $40 for non-members.

Also on Sunday, Pioneer Pole Buildings will be giving away 1000 water bottles to fans as part of the evening’s festivities. A special Coalcracker t-shirt and program book will also be on sale. Rookie of the Year awards will also be presented during the weekends events.

*******As a note to race fans planning to attend and camp, overnight camping will only be permitted from Sunday to Monday.******
