JIMMY HORTON JOINS PAUCH, FRIESEN AND OTHER TOP RACERS IN FIELD FOR THE BPG RACING FREEDOM 76 SEPTEMBER 18TH NIGHT
LINE-X FREEDOM FEST TAKES PLACE DURING THE DAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA September 1, 2010 . . . The list of top name race car drivers is growing and becoming more impressive with the addition of dirt track racing legend Jimmy Horton to the field for the BPG Racing Freedom 76 set to take place at Grandview Speedway on Saturday, September 18th at 7 p.m.
The 54-year-old veteran of 38 seasons of dirt-track competition will be joining such standouts as six time Freedom 76 winner Billy Pauch Sr., Stewart Friesen (winner of more than 20 modified features this season), Grandview track champion Duane Howard, multi-time Freedom 76 winner Craig VonDohren and a host of other outstanding racers as they try for a victory in the $20,000 to win classic.
Horton has won at least one feature race every year for 37 consecutive seasons starting back in 1974. He has not been to victory lane in the BPG Racing Freedom 76. He does have two big block modified wins at Grandview and those came in 1999 and 2002. In addition he was the winner of a United Racing Company sprint car race at Grandview back in 1981.
During his career Horton has amassed 412 Modified victories and 96 of those wins came in small-block racers.
The popular racer will be driving the No. 14 Dick Biever Alpha Distribution Solutions entry.
TP Trailers of Limerick have just announced that they will sponsor the Hard Charger Award, Beer City of Quakertown will give $100 to the last driver finishing the race on the lead lap and BFP Specialty of Bethel, PA will sponsor the $1,000 to win Cash Dash. CowPattyNation.com will sponsor the Halfway Leader Award worth $500.

Advance tickets are on sale at the track on Saturday nights and are priced at $30 for adults, $10 for youngsters 6 thru 11 and under 6 are admitted FREE. Fans are reminded that no glass bottles are allowed in the speedway and no open fires are permitted for those who are planning to camp over on the speedway grounds.
Fans coming out early for the big race will be entertained by the third annual Line-X Freedom Fest that gets started at 11 a.m. Included in the fun filled activities put together by Pete and Amy Knappenberger in an effort to raise funds for the Camelot Home in Allentown, PA are a variety of special events.
A Trivia session will kick off the day with great prizes for the contestants. Track announcer Ernie Saxton will be interviewing drivers from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and that is followed by the band Johnny Rock-It.
In addition attendees will have the opportunity to decorate Troy Wink’s modified stock car, dunk someone in the dunk tank, meet the Young Guns of local racing, collect autographs, participate in kids games giveaways, check over the many race cars on display, the Line-X Bedliner giveaways, meet the Racers Roundtable girls and Mojo the Racing Rabbit.
The Line-X Freedom Fest will come to an end at 3 p.m. just as the gates are being opened to fans for the 40th annual BPG Racing Freedom 76.
The rain date for the Freedom 76 is Saturday, September 25th. However if the rain date is not needed a doubleheader show of open competition Modifieds and Late Models will be presented. Racing will start at 7 p.m. The doubleheader will close out the season of regular Saturday night racing events.
