BECHTELSVILLE, PA April 16, 2011 . . . The forecast of heavy rain, the kind that had Noah building an arc and herding the animals two by two, bone chilling cold weather plus strong winds forced promoter Bruce Rogers to cancel the Saturday night doubleheader show of stock car racing at Grandview Speedway. The doubleheader would have included the NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modifieds and Late Models in action.
“Let’s hope that is the first and last rainout for the 2011 season,” said Rogers. “We made the call to cancel based on the forecast that had an 80 to 100% chance of rain. We don‘t usually call them this early but with the cost of gas and such a strong forecast for bad weather we wanted to allow our fans and racers to make other plans.”
