Money in the Mountains Set for Friday at Big Diamond


The biggest race of the young 2015 racing season is coming to "God's Country" this Friday night with the running of the $7,500 to win/$500 to start "Money in the Mountains" event for the big/small block modifieds at Big Diamond Speedway.  Rain date is Friday April 10th.

A field illuminated with talent is expect to be on hand for the huge show. Erick Rudolph, coming off a victory in last week's season opener heads a talented group of invaders looking to take home the big check. Former Money in the Mountains winers Ryan Godown and Jeff Strunk, Ryan Watt, Danny Johnson, Stewart Friesen,  Randy Chrysler, Larry Wight, Mike Mahaney are just some of the expected outsiders coming to Minersville Friday night. Duane Howard, Craig Von Dohren, Rick Laubach, Billy Pauch Jr, Meme DeSantis, headline a group of talented regulars hoping to defend the home turf. 

The Sportsman and Roadrunners will also be in action. Brett Kressley and Terry Kramer hope to build off their momentum from their opening night victories.

Gates will open at 5:00 Friday evening with racing set to take place at 8:15. Admission for this top-tiered show is just $25 while kids and active military (with valid ID) are admitted free.

Modified rules for Friday's event are as follows: spec head small-block on gas – 2,275 lbs.; spec head small-block on alcohol – 2,350 lbs.; open small-block on gas (under 363 c.i.) – 2,350 lbs.; open small-block on alcohol (under 363 c.i.) – 2,400 lbs.; small-block over 363 c.i. – 2,500 lbs.; big-block – 2,500 lbs.  

DIRTcar/Big Diamond body rules are in effect (no sail panels). Tire compounds permitted are: American Racer – 33 or harder left front; 38 or harder right-front; 44 or harder left-front; 48 or harder right-front; or Hoosier D300 or harder all four corners.  

Modifieds in attendance will receive 75 show-up points.  Full point show for the Sportsman and Roadrunners.   Rain Date is Friday April 10th.
