Bechtelsville, PA –
Before Dan Green and the G & H Motorsports #46 NASCAR BRC Late
Model headed to Grandview Speedway the team had to finish getting the
car ready for the night of racing. The team spent some extra time
repairing body work from last week and then loaded up the trailer and
drove to the track.
The first heat race for the late models had Dan lining up in 6th
spot. The first wave of the green flag was a no go as Cory Merkel #16
was a little early, so a complete restart was needed. The second green
was better as the race stayed green for 6 laps until Steve Gross #62 and
Sean Merkel #118 made contact with Merkel having a flat right rear and
Gross being sent to the rear. Dan now was running 3rd at the restart and held on to that position to the checkered.
Scott
Green, Cathy Green, Debbie Dutter, Jim Alexander, Bob Higginbotham, and
Brett Higginbotham quickly went to work on repairing some damage to the
Auman Photography #46 as Dan helped Gross with repairs to his #62. The
car was ready and Dan went out for the feature.
Scheduled 6th in the 18 car field, Dan was moved up one spot as John Giesler #ZT1 chose to start in the rear. Dan was able to move up to 4th as he got by Joe “Geezer” Fanelli #22. Lap 4 saw Chuck Schutz #1 got by Dan on the inside to put Dan 5th. Caution come out on lap 5 for C. Merkel. This put Dan 4th
for the restart. When the race went back to green the track stayed as a
one groove track so there was very little passing and Dan was able to
finish in 4th following Schutz and Dave Ogin #31 with Randy Stoudt #10 getting his second win of the season.
The
NASCAR BRC Late Models have a week off next week but will return to
action on Saturday June 20, 2015 starting at 7:30 PM. Dan Green will be
wheeling the Just Mom's Ice Cream and Grille #46.
