Coatesville, PA – September 3, 2016 –
Grandview Speedway’s BRC Late Model season may be over but Dan Green
and the Hot Rod Tracker #46 isn’t done yet! With another Top 10 finish
in the Feature Event Dan ends up in 3rd in driver points in the very competitive Late Model division.
Heat Race
Dan started the 8 lap Heat race in 4th spot and when the green flag waved he settled into that spot for the first few laps. Wayne Pfeil #72 had issues while running 3rd and had to pull into the infield allowing Dan to take over the 3rd
spot. Brian Shuey #177 took the lead on the first lap from Joe “Geezer”
Fanelli #22 and never looked back as he took the win of the first heat
over Fanelli and Dan. Steve Todorow #93 won the second Heat race over
Ron Kline #3.
Feature Event
Starting 5th
in the 25 lap race, Dan made his way to fourth on the completion of lap 1
by getting by Bill Henning #80. On lap 2 something broke on the Fanelli
#22 which sent him hard into the backstretch wall. Dan wasn’t able to
miss the #22 but was able to slow down enough to have minimal damage and
he was able to keep moving. Fanelli walked away from the accident but
the #22 machine sustained heavy damage. The race went green after the
clean-up with Dan restarting 3rd but on lap 4 Dan drove a
little too hard into turn 1 and spun the Scott Select #46 around while
Henning, Chuck Schutz #1 and Pfeil had to scramble to try and miss Dan.
Pfeil was unable to and was nose to nose with the #46 to bring out the
only other caution of the event. With Dan and Pfeil going to the back
and 21 laps run under green Dan finished 9th when he drove under the checker.
Congratulations
Steve
Todorow #93 picked up his first career win in the BRC Late Models. Doug
Manmiller #44M was able to win the T.P. Trailers Modifieds Feature
event after being out of victory lane since August 20, 2014. Brian
Papiez #99x won his 4th of the year in the Sportsman Class.
The end of the year had the Champions crowned in all divisions as Chuck Schutz #1 clinched his 8th Championship by taking the green in the BRC Late Model Feature. Craig VonDorhen #1C captured his 9th
T.P. Trailers Modified Championship and young Jordan Henn #77H held off
all other drivers to pick up his very first Sportsman Championship.
Next Event
Grandview
Speedway Late Models ended their season which ended Dan’s 358 season
BUT that doesn’t mean that the season is over for the G & H
Motorsports team! Over the summer owners, Scott and Cathy Green bought a
410 motor and a 2nd LAZERX Chassis for Dan and the team to race at other tracks. The plan right now is to get the car ready for November 4th and 5th at Georgetown Speedway to run in the Super Late Model class!
